Sweden is full of tales and stories and for several hundred years it has been told that the water surface of Storsjön – The Great Lake is not only moved by wind and waves, here there is something mysterious and exciting beneath the surface, said to be Storsjöodjuret – The great lake monster.
M/S Thomée was built in 1875 and has served Lake Storsjön since 1880. After serveral years of renovation the former steamer again makes cruises on Lake Storsjön, now heading for Verkön Island with its small “castle” and restaurant. Restaurant on board, seatings both indoors and outdoors. Cabins on the upper deck.
Verkö Castle was built between the years 1893-1905, a beautiful place with a long history.
