Forsaleden & Revsund Brewery

The trail to the rapids follows Forsaån through rocky terrain over bridges and wooden planks. Along the trail there are waterfalls, streams and ponds. Here there are a number of unusual plant species which, among other things, are due to the calcareous bedrock. The minerals also affect the water, which has a beautiful green shimmer in places.

Along the trail there are many cultural remains, such as: Cave paintings, Iron Age graves, Stone Age settlements, Trap pits, “the rocking stone and a memorial commemorating three people who drowned just outside the pole.

In the same area is Revsund Brewery

Revsund and strives to offer products with a local connection in name, design and taste. The brewery has recently opened the doors to a brand new building in Revsund where they also have a restaurant/events, and accept group bookings.

Vildmarksvägen

Sweden's highest paved road, crosses the Stekenjokk plateau between Lapland & Jämtland. Experience everything from vast forests & beautiful lakes.

A journey through a Sami cultural landscape

Don’t drive too fast, stop often and enjoy! The road was built in the 1960s and was initially called Stekenjokkvägen. It was the interest in mining that made the area famous.

The mid-1980s saw a decline in visitors to the area. Then the municipalities started the project Vildmarksvägen over Stekenjokk, “Sweden’s most beautiful road”. The purpose of the project was to market animals, nature, waterfalls, cultural sites, hiking and the local activities.

Waterfalls
There are several easily accessible waterfalls along Vildmarksvägen, especially the part that goes over the mountains near Stekenjokk.

Several waterfalls are directly adjacent to the road, others require a shorter hike. In some places, for example Klimpfjäll, there are shorter hiking trails that take you around and past several waterfalls and spectacular rapids.

A varied trail that goes through different types of forest & on different types of ground. A nice way to get from Lit north towards Högfors & Häggenås

Högforsleden is a path and a trail of 8 km between the Högfors hydroelectric power plant and the village Lit. In several places along the trail, you have two choices: a fantastic one-way path that loops along the slopes – and a slightly wider and less technically friendly path.

The most spectacular part of the trail Högforsleden is right from the hydroelectric power plant and about 3 km away. You can park your car right where the trail starts at the hydroelectric power plant.

It is possible to connect at several places closer to Lit, but then you miss the best. There is a fantastic rest area down by the river Hårkan, right where the trail passes.
