Medvinden - Skiis and skates
Ice skating track located on Lake Storsjön, and starts just in the center of Östersund in the harbour.
The area down at the Winterpark, with the nordic skate- and cross country skiing-tracks, has been a success with thousands of people on the ice a sunny day! If you have not tried nordic skating, it can really be recommended. The feeling when sweeping at the ice in downwind is fantastic!
The track goes from the Winterpark/harbour in Östersund to the other side at Frösön and continues along the shore to Härke and Kungsgårdsviken at Frösön. The track is plowed up to aproximately 15 kilometers. Regarding saftey, all skating and walking etc. is on your own risk.
The track is normally open february-beginning of april but can be closed due to warm weather and bad ice quality. You can rent equipment at Intersport “Sjöbutiken”, in the Winterpark.
