Östersund is perfect for adventurous excursions at Lake Storsjön and on land, and in mid-June the outdoor hub Friluftsgården at Sjötorget in Badhusparken will be inaugurated.
In the boathouses in Badhusparken you can rent kayaks, inflatable paddle boards, bicycles and outdoor equipment. Here, Surfbukten is on site and can give you inspiration for your exploration trips. Lagg & Hoj are on site with their bike rental and here you will find everything from city bikes to mountain bikes that can handle downhill rides, rocks to electric bikes. The kayaks that you can rent here are good all-round kayaks, stable with foot rudders that you either put in directly from Badhusparken or rent and take with you to, for example, Locknesjön.
If you instead want to experience Storsjön on a Stand Up Paddle Board, it is excellent to rent such as well. Another wonderful adventure for this summer is to sleep in a tree tent. Here in the Outdoor hub you can rent a tree tent and find a secluded place on for example Frösön or Andersön. It is a fantastic mid-nature experience to soar above the ground, look up at the sky and enjoy the views of the lake and mountains.
Also take the opportunity to rent a portable pizza oven with you and the evening will be complete.
Here in the outdoor hub, you can book most things in advance via Surfbukten.se Surfbukten facebook or email@example.com You can rent a bike online at Lagg & Hoj, but you can also drop by for a drop-in. If you would rather soften up and have a little calmer time on land, there are comfortable sun loungers to sit on and games to borrow.
Badhusparkens Café is open and next door there are both Restaurant Seaport and Marité.
