Here you will find a wealth of places perfect for socializing, playing or just being and enjoying the peace and quiet in the green. Sommarparken is there for Östersund residents and visitors to the city and together we create a wonderful place to stay.

How to get to Sommarparken
It is easy to get to Sommarparken whether you cycle, walk or take public transport. Sommarparken is the green area located on both sides of the strait between Östersund and Frösön.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the activities, which are free of charge (unless otherwise stated).

Surfbukten

Swim from the jetties and jump from the swimming tower. Play beach volleyball, borrow long boards, go wake boarding or rent a SUP or kayak.

Try wakeboarding in a cable park.

In Surfbukten's café you can buy ice cream, smoothies, toast sandwiches, coffee, fika bread, drinks and snacks.

Rent a Stand Up Paddle board and head out onto beautiful Storsjön.

Rent a kayak for yourself or the whole family. The Kayakomat is set up at Surfbukten with convenient self-service 24 hours a day.

Dalhemsparken

Dalhemsparken is beautifully located by Lake Storsjön, next to Surfbukten.

A really fun track, always open and free for both young and old. Here you can ride skateboards, rollerblades, kickbikes and bicycles.

Try the outdoor gym in Dalhemsparken. There is something for everyone and equipment to activate the whole body.

There is a large and well-visited playground in Badhusparken. The paved surface makes it easy to roll in with a stroller and wheelchair.

There are chess sets to borrow in the bathhouse park.

Enjoy delicious homemade coffee or have lunch in the pavilion or outdoors in the outdoor terrace.

FAQ - Svar på vanliga frågor

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome in the Summer Park but must be on a leash and are only allowed on the park’s walkways. Dogs are not allowed on playgrounds, lawns, indoor areas

Is the Summer Park accessible?

Most parts are accessible by wheelchair/roller.

There are very few adaptations for people with visual impairments or cognitive difficulties, for example.

Where are there barbecue areas?

If you want to barbeque in the Summer Park, there is a barbeque at Jamtlibryggan.

At  Runeborgsparken on Frösön you will also find a barbeque.

Grilling takes place at the permanent barbeque areas for environmental and safety reasons.

Disposable grills and picnic grills may not be used in the Summer Park.

What cafes are there?

Badhusparkens Café is located at Badhusparken and is a classic Östersund profile. With its heated glass pavilion, the café is a given meeting place throughout the winter. It serves the soup of the day, light dishes, sandwiches, homemade fika bread and more.

You can also find Surfbukten Café on the Frösön.
