Then its time to get out and look for the Northerns Lights, enjoy a warm drink / Swedish fika and the silence. In bad weather conditions, we will be indoors and have a longer lecture on the aurora and photography.
Photographer Göran Strand lives in Östersund, Jämtland. During recent years he has received great recognition for his photos and film sequences of different phenomena of the skies. He has contributed film and photographic materials to both Swedish and international film productions, several of his photos have been nominated “Astronomy Picture of the Day” by NASA and in 2014, the world-famous band Coldplay used one of his films of the Northern Lights in their music video “A sky full of stars.
In 2016 his book Light – Year, a year of light, was published and in November 2016 five of his Northern Lights photographs were published as stamps by the Swedish Postal Service PostNord.
The tour
19.00-20.00 Inspiring lecture indoors at Stocke Titt. The lecture will be in English.
20.00-22.00 We walk to a good spot, experience the darkness and silence,
where we search for the light phenomenon of the northern lights while having a warm drink / Swedish fika.
Transport
Bus number 3 takes you from Östersund city centre to Stocke Titt on Frösön 18.20
Bus number 4 takes you back to Östersund city centre 22.12
You can pay your busticket by card or via mobile app on the bus
Good shoes and warm clothes are recommended. Remember to bring your camera!
